Who is responsible for paying the mortgage, maintenance, insurance, and property taxes?

The homeowner is responsible for 100% of the ownership costs of the home.

Home ownership costs include:

    • Paying for the mortgage
    • Taxes
    • Repairs
    • Regular maintenance
    • Insurance to protect the property

We will work with all homebuyers using Landed to better understand the initial condition of the home, so that you have a solid understanding of what potential maintenance and repairs may be required.

Homebuyers Using the Down Payment Program

Note: Due to a temporary unavailability of DPP investment funds, all Landed metro areas are being put on a DPP waitlist effective September 8, 2022. You can read all the details (including FAQs) here if you would like to know more.

For those using our down payment program, your Landed partnership requires that you keep the home at least in the condition it was in when you bought it. Landed also requires you to keep homeowner’s insurance active at all times.

If you are in certain high-risk areas, you may need extra insurance, such as flood coverage. For follow up questions, you can email us at customer@landed.com.
